Reports & Financials

Reports and financials

What we publish, and when

AFCA asks people to fund medicines for strangers. The least we owe in return is a clear account of what came in, what went out, and what it treated.

This page is the permanent home for AFCA’s reporting. Documents are added as they are completed and approved — not backdated, and not summarised into something more flattering than the underlying records support. Where a document is still in preparation, it is listed as such rather than omitted.

Campaign report

Produced after every campaign. Patients registered and seen, conditions diagnosed by category, medication dispensed against stock, referrals written, and the full cost breakdown for that campaign.

Annual report

Produced once a year. Campaigns delivered, aggregate activity, the year’s income and expenditure, governance changes, what went wrong and what we changed as a result.

Donor and grant reports

Issued directly to any funder who supported a specific campaign or restricted purpose, reconciling their contribution to what it actually bought.

Available documents

Document Period Status
Annual report and accounts 2026 In preparation — published after year end
Campaign report — Foumban, Noun Division West Region Being reconciled
Certificate of registration Current Available on request
Governance and safeguarding policies Current Summarised on the transparency page; full text on request

Funders, journalists and regulators can request any of the above directly. We would rather send a document than have someone rely on an assumption.

Financial controls

How money is handled between the gift and the medicine

Most of what can go wrong in a small NGO goes wrong in procurement. These are the controls that apply to every campaign, regardless of size.

No payments to personal accounts

Donations are received into accounts held in the organisation’s name. AFCA does not ask a donor to send money to an individual, and any request that does so is not from us.

Two people on every disbursement

Spending is authorised by one person and executed by another. Nobody approves and pays out the same expense alone.

Receipts for everything purchased

Medicines, consumables, transport and venue costs are supported by documentation from the supplier and matched to the campaign they belong to.

Stock counted in and out

Medicine stock is counted on arrival and again at the close of the campaign. Dispensing records must reconcile to the difference, and a discrepancy is investigated before the campaign is closed.

Restricted funds stay restricted

If a donor funds a named community or a named purpose, that money is spent on it. If a campaign cannot go ahead, we go back to the donor rather than quietly reallocating.

Nothing collected from patients

No fee, contribution or gift may be taken from a patient by anyone working under AFCA’s name. This is a condition of volunteering and it is not negotiable.

Income

Where AFCA’s resources come from

AFCA is funded by individual donors in Cameroon and in the diaspora, by companies and associations sponsoring specific campaigns, by in-kind gifts of medicines and equipment from pharmacies and distributors, and by the donated professional time of every clinician on the roster — which is by far the largest single contribution the organisation receives.

We accept restricted funding for a named community or purpose, and unrestricted funding, which is more useful because it lets us buy medicines before a campaign rather than after the money has been raised.

What we will not accept

  • Funding conditional on treating, or not treating, a particular group
  • Funding conditional on clinical decisions being influenced by the funder
  • Support offered in exchange for patient data or identifiable patient images
  • Medicines that are expired, unlabelled, or without documentation

Raising a concern

If you believe money, medicines or authority have been misused by anyone associated with AFCA, tell us. Concerns can be raised in confidence by phone or WhatsApp on +237 6 79 62 34 55, or in writing through the contact page. We will acknowledge it and tell you what we did about it.

Verifying that you are dealing with AFCA

Before transferring anything, you are entitled to ask for our registration details and for the name and role of the person you are dealing with. A genuine request from AFCA will never be urgent, unsolicited, or directed to a personal account.

Corrections

If a published figure turns out to be wrong, we correct it on this site and say what changed rather than replacing it silently.

Scrutiny welcome

Ask us anything you would ask of a larger organisation

Funders, journalists, regulators and community partners are all entitled to look at how AFCA works. Nothing on this page is intended to be the end of the conversation.
