Cookies Policy

Last updated: 4 September 2026

This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used on the Alliance For Community Awareness website, and how you can control them.

Template — have this reviewed

This cookies policy describes the website as currently configured. If AFCA adds analytics, advertising pixels, embedded video or other third-party tools, this policy must be updated and the cookie banner reconfigured. Have it reviewed alongside the privacy policy before relying on it.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website asks your browser to store. They let a site remember things between pages and visits — for example that you have already answered the cookie banner, or that you are logged in. Similar technologies such as local storage do much the same job.

What this website uses them for

This is an information website for a non-profit organisation. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track you across other websites.

PurposeWhat it does
Strictly necessaryKeeps the site working — page delivery, security and load balancing. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
Cookie consentRecords the choice you made on the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page.
Forms and anti-spamOur contact, volunteer and campaign request forms use tokens to prevent automated spam submissions and to preserve what you typed if a submission fails.
Performance and cachingOur caching layer may set identifiers so that pages load faster on repeat visits.
Administrator loginSet only for AFCA staff who log in to manage the website. They are not set for ordinary visitors.

Third-party requests

This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser therefore makes a request to Google’s servers, and Google may log your IP address and browser details as part of serving those files. If pages ever embed third-party content such as video or maps, that provider may also set cookies; we will say so on the page concerned.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies through the banner shown when you first visit, and at any time through your browser settings — every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this site working, including form submission.

Clearing your cookies will also clear the record of your consent choice, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.

Changes

We will update this policy if we add or remove tools that use cookies. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
